Shopping Cart plugin Configuration

To start setting up PayPal Advanced in the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin, go to Checkout > Configuration > Payment Methods where you will find the “PayPal Advanced (Payflow Link)” entitled box with all the necessary settings to configure.

PayPal Advanced Configuration

1. Title

Specify the title/caption as you want the PayPal Payments Advanced payment method/gateway to appear throughout the plugin. This will affect both the way the customers see it and the way that the merchant sees it in the dashboad (admin panel).

2. Partner

The partner/reseller that provided your PayPal Advanced or PayPal Payflow Link account. If you got the account directly through PayPal rather than through a reseller, the value will be “PayPal” by default.

3. Vendor

The merchant ID that you use to login to the PayPal Manager.

4. User

The name of the user which you added through the PayPal Manager. If you didn’t create any user and you’re using the default user, the value will be the same as the Vendor setting above.

5. Password

The password which you use to login to the PayPal Manager or if you are using a different user which is not the vendor, the password will be the password assigned to the user in the User setting above.

6. Mode

Check the radio buttons to choose between Live or Test. Set this to the status that your PayPal Advanced or PayPal Payflow Link account is set to in the PayPal Manager accordingly.

PayPal Manager Settings

With your PayPal Advanced or PayPal Payflow Link account you get a PayPal Manager login where you can configure all the needed merchant settings for the gateway. Go to the PayPal Manager to continue following the instructions below.

PayPal Manager Login

Login to the PayPal Manager using your Partner, Merchant Login (Vendor), User and Password values. If you don’t have a specific user created through the PayPal Manager, just leave that setting empty.

PayPal Manager Service Settings

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see many things which are available for you to configure, view, etc. but we will specifically focus on the setup of the Hosted Checkout Pages. Go to “Service Settings” at the top where your services will be listed. Under “Hosted Checkout Pages“, click the “Set Up” link to go to the setup of PayPal Advanced/Payflow Link.

You are logged in and at the Set Up now. It is important that you configure the following things:

1. Transaction Process Mode

You can set the mode to either “Live” or “Test“. If you want to test out the PayPal Payments Advanced gateway, set it to “Test“. Be sure that the mode you configure here matches the mode in the plugin under Checkout > Configuration > Payment Methods > PayPal Payments Advanced (Payflow Link) please.

2. PayPal Email Addresses

Be sure to fill in the PayPal and PayPal Sandbox email addresses accordingly.

3. Payment Confirmation

For the “Show confirmation page” setting, choose “On my website“. You may leave the “Enter Return URL” setting empty since the plugin will set that for you accordingly. Set the “Return URL Method” to “Post“.

4. Silent Post for Data Transfer

Turn this off by setting “Use Silent Post” to “No“.

5. Security Options

Set the “Enable Secure Token” setting to “Yes“. The plugin will handle the secure token to ensure that transactions are encrypted and secure at all times.

Now save your PayPal Manager settings and you are done. You are ready to start using PayPal Payments Advanced and PayPal Payflow Link through the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin!
