I've had excellent success with the plugin. However, it is not allowing me to delete items and "update profile", but allows me to update it. For instance: i've put an address in a "user website" field (custom text field, not required). The user no longer has that website, so I delete the box and hit "update profile". The content field doesn't go blank. I can type a space or change the input on the field and it updates fine. Please help

Below is what my hosting company (Bluehost) said about what Paypal said which is posted above. Please contact Bluehost below so you guys can get together on this, it sounds like this is not a server issue.

Robert,
Thank you for contacting support. How is the API communicating with PayPal? Does it require a specific port?

The information which paypal provided you and you included in this message falls outside of the bounds of our support. You would have to check with the makers of the shopping cart that you are using for your site. If you can provide us more details on what the API from paypal requires to make its connection, we may be able to help insure that your connection is being permitted through our server firewall.

How did we do? Please help us to improve the support that we offer you by filling out this online survey:

I have setup a eCommerce site for one of my Ausi customer and I am useing "Checkout 1.6.7" version. I have configured it to use Paypal (Pro).

My problem is, once you checked out, it will not take the payment. I have doubled the params and they are 100% correct. The major issue is, someone else can see all of the prev customers info + credit card number, etc. This is a critical bug and does any one come across this kind of issue?

If it is an issue related to configuration (I do not think so), Could you help me to solve this?

Hello Rob Bennett,

Thank you for contacting PayPal today.

Below is an example of an IPN that failed, that you will want to forward to your shopping cart. If they refer you to your hosting company, you may want to forward the hosting company the same information.

Here is the information to request from your shopping cart.

The script should return a 200 response to PayPal after the IPN Post is received. Why is it returning 500 instead? The PayPal IPN will attempt to repost 16 times before it disables the IPN setting.

For your host: What is occurring on the server at this timestamp? Are there errors when the script is attempting to post back or receive the post?

Has this been resolved yet? I have the latest version the Newsletter Plugin Version 3.9.

This version has the option to export subscribers but it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if this actually works?

It looks like ti should but when you do it the file that is generated is blank/empty and in the process of exporting you see the values for each is 0. The list has currently 900 subscribers with just emails but nothing gets exported.

Thanks for the question newdude.

Vitor attended to your ticket and logged into your site to add specific parameters to your current install of the plugin. I'm not 100% what he did, but I see you say the issue has been fixed now.

Thank you for the question betocollin.

The product sorting/ordering interface has not been integrated yet. There are still the settings though for this in the configuration. So in "Checkout > Configuration > Products & Images" tab, in the "Product Loop/Paging" section there is a setting, see here http://screencast.com/t/Z1hrTg9Pajm

Essentially, you can use the "Date" sorting in "Descending" order, this way when you save a product it appears first. So you could go edit and save each product individually in the order that you want them to appear.

We hope to get the product sorting in the plugin soon.

Thank you for the question bestfit_solutions

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this matter.

Anyway, the CSS file that you are looking for is ".../wp-content/plugins/wp-checkout/views/default/style.css"

The div you need to edit is

input.ui-button, a.ui-button

As well as the :hover for both

If you need any help then please provide a link and some reference, I will give you some CSS to make the button look how you want it to.

All the best!

Kyle Schuller on "Pros / Cons of using Pages instead of Posts"

Hello khughey.

We recommend posts as opposed to pages due to the fact that pages are essentially a custom post type. They are just posts but with a lot of additional rewrites and so on. These tend to make page loading slower, and ultimately utilizes more space as opposed to just a normal post.

So there is nothing wrong with using pages for more than 50 products, but please note if you experience slow load time then you should swap to posts. Alternatively, you can increase your PHP memory_limit as defined by your host. This works in the same way as RAM on a computer. So the more memory_limit you have the more process that can be carried out simultaneously and the quicker they are carried out.

Changing server resources like this is possible, but converting pages to posts is easier and can be done from admin, which is why it is recommended.

That 50 limit is not set in stone, it is simply a guide line.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Does anyone know the pros/cons of using pages instead of posts for products? I saw that the documentation indicated that posts are preferred if you have a lot of items. My client would also like to utilize the blog component of WP, and I'm concerned about the impact of products as posts. They also will probably have 200+ products online at any point in time.

Thanks in advance,

Thank you for the forum post deetergroup.

Yes, this was a little bug when the new version was released. It's caused by the new feature to delete the customer cart when they log out. Small complication and it has been fixed already.

Please go to your account at http://tribulant.com/downloads (you may need to login to view this page) - simply re-download the plugin (still v1.6.7) and install it. This will fix the issue you have with logging in/out.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the response, Rob.

I spoke with Antonie about this yesterday, he said he would compile a custom build for you and email it through. Did you not receive an email from him with a .zip attachment of the plugin?

If not I'll send him an email which he'll attend to when he gets the chance (he's away for a few days but still checking emails as often as possible).

I was under the impression that this was sent to you already, sorry.

I have gone through several days and haven't received any invoices so it is not intermittent right now. I just don't understand how if worked fine for about a month and then just stopped working for no reason. Antonie told me that he would have his staff look into the pending tickets because he was going to be away for a few days but never said anything else so what your saying is all new news to me. This is not an isolated issue there are other with the same issue. At one time I disabled all my plugins and still wasn't getting the invoices so its not another plugin either. I have increased the memory to the max and have the highest bandwidth that they offer which is overkill for my site. I pay $20 a month for hosting which is a lot for the size so don't think it is my server. If it is my server what can I tell my server company so they can investigate. Not sure what custom build your taking about because I haven't received anything from you yet until I posted this.

Greetings and thank you for the forum post Rob.

I have just replied to your support ticket about this issue, below is what was said:

_________________________________

This isn't a know error with the plugin. Every time in the past that people have experienced this issue where orders are not automatically marked as paid and an invoice is not issued the cause is due to an incorrectly configured PayPal IPN. For you this is not the case though as we know the IPN has been correctly set-up.

Anyway, the custom build that we sent you yesterday doesn't require the IPN at all. We customized the code for you so that an order is marked as paid and completed as soon as the customer returns to your site from PayPal, regardless of whether the IPN sends the callback to the plugin or not. So if you go on your site through the payment process, to PayPal for payment and then back to your site, this should mark an order as paid.

Normally, there is a call back sent behind the scenes to the plugin, the plugin recognizes this message and in response the order is marked as completed.

So we have completely removed the technical part of this and it is now a pretty straight forward IF ELSE statement which still isn't working. This tells us that the issue is almost definitely server related.

I discussed this with the plugin developer on Skype (Antonie Potgieter) and this is what he said:

---

Yeah, PayPal IPN not marking orders as Paid = Yes consistently.
I think it's his server. Some do, some don't, they are just random.
I've logged into his PayPal account and resent the IPN notifications on the ones which didn't update and then sometimes they worked.

I'll add some code to the plugin for him.
I'll just have the order marked as Paid = Yes upon return.
So whether the IPN sends or not, it'll set as Paid = Yes and send the invoice.

---

_________________________________

So even a last resort, make-shift alternative with no chance of technical complications still doesn't work for you.

There are many people who use the PayPal option in the plugin with no complications, so this issue is particularly contained to your site. It's not a plugin conflict as we tested for this, it's not a theme issue as we tested for this, you plugin is up to date, your WordPress is up to date - so the only thing left is a server issue.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Kyle

I wanted to ask and see if anyone has found out a fix for the bug or whatever it is that is causing me and my customers not to receive notification emails when orders are placed. Also this problem is causing me to not have correct stock amounts listed on my site because it isn't subtracting out inventory when it is sold.

I have had this issue for about two months now minus a short time in between when I was getting some notifications and some I wasn't. I have had about 10 support tickets on this and at first were responded to quickly however the issue wasn't fixed. I have contact the owner on Skype almost daily asking what the problem is and when will it be fixed. As of now I still haven't received a concrete answer and now my support tickets are being ignored. I have been given instructions on how to set my settings in Paypal, told that it is other plugins that I am running causing the problem, I need more memory, and on and on but I have tried everything. The gateway that the cart is having issues with is Paypal which is the most widely used so this is a major problem. At this point I am having to manually send invoices to me and my customers along with manually subtracting out my inventory each time I make a sale. I was hoping that the new update that just came out 1.6.7 would fix it but nope still not working. I know that I am not the only customer with this problem because I have been in contact with someone else using the cart and they too are also having the problem.

This is not meant to be a bad review because the cart is great along with the support for all my issues except this one, it seems that they just can't figure out themselves what the problem is or they would have fixed it by now. This issue is costing me a lot of time and money so I am going to have to start looking for another cart if it is not fixed.

So if you have any ideas on how to fix this please post. Also please post if you are one of the many having the same problem.

How do you update to 1.6.7 using FTP? I can't find any instructions on how to do this using FTP? If it is as simple as downloading it and uploading it into word press dashboard I can handle that but it would not work that way and I am thinking that will wipe out my products.

Hello,

I have updated to 1.6.7 and now I have a login problem when I go to /wp-admin, it does the redirect to wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2F etc... I get a blank page, error 500. When log in, using just wp-admin.php I can work fine, when I go to log out, the log out re-direct does not work and I am left logged in.

If I disable your plug in everything works as normal, so it has to be your plugin and the update.

Thanks, you were a big help. That was what I suspected. Since we'll have a lot more than 50+ items, I'm sticking with posts, but I did find a simple plugin that modifies the default posts behavior to remove comments. The clients site will have a "blog" type component, but initially will only be used to share info, and not intended as as a traditional 2-way communication mode, so not having comments there is ok for now.

Cheers,

i know this is not a support question but I posted the same support ticket (Ticket #210720) and haven't received help in a week now so, alas, I have nowhere else to turn.

Hi, I have the wp-slideshow gallery plugin installed on the homepage of this site: http://hughespestcontrol.net/.

For some reason, when you FIRST open the site in Firefox and Chrome, the initial picture gets half cutoff. And when you open the site in IE8, it takes a few additional seconds for this first picture to load.

But when you refresh the site, the first picture appears whole and right away.

Please advise.

Thank you for your post, Ken.

The comments form is controlled by your theme's post template.
This file is usually named "single.php" in your theme's folder.

I assume you want to turn off the comments form for the products but not other posts on your site?

For now, you'll have to either remove the comments form from this post template file but it will affect all your other posts as well or you have to wait for our next release where we'll have a setting on each product editing page where you can select On/Off for the comments when you choose 'Post' for the product.

Alternatively, you can use pages for your products and create a specific WordPress page template to use for it.

Please let me know if this helps.

When utilizing posts for the product details, how do you remove the default WP comment reply field at the bottom of the post. I see how you could enter a product, then go find it as a post, then manually toggle off the comment section. That is very manually intensive if needed for each product.

Save the changes to the file and then try save a custom field again. Now instead of the blank screen you should get a error message which will indicate what the cause of the problem is."

---

Could you please turn on the debugging and provide us with the error as a response to your ticket.

Let us know if you have any questions.

All the best!

First up, what hours is Tribulant support available live? I tried that and got sent to a ticket system. Live support convinced me to purchase, but now it's looking like up to 48 hours for a response.

Secondly, has anybody experienced a problem with saving a new custom field causing a blank admin screen with only the side menu shown? Then when clicking 'Manage Fields' the field hasn't been saved?

It's sure not working like the demo. I noticed that this plugin's latest update date was today. Should've known better but I'm up against a deadline.

Hello.

When users try to confirm their subscription through the link received by email, they get a prompt that states "subscription could not be activated" (please see the screenshot at http://cpix.org/2012-04-18_11-52-42.png).

Once the OK button is clicked, the user is taken to the subscription management page (see screenshot at http://cpix.org/2012-04-18_11-53-21.png).

After this, the backend system does indicate the user's subscription as active.

You can try this out yourself at http://www.joy.net (subscription form is in right side bar, under "Wake up to joy".

I have done the most recent upgrade to the plugin.

Thank you.

I have downloaded the new update. But it seems there'e no documentation about this feature.... Where can we see how it works? I can't seem to add another email.
