Is there a way to deactivate an entire category such that it no longer displays in the menu?
Even if I deactivate all products in a category, it still shows up (but is useless)--I want to hide it.

Greetings.

I see this post is rather old, but this is possible. All categories and products are added as a post or page. So to hide the entire category, you could simply mark the category post/page as a draft. This should do what you need.
