Great features were added in this release of the WordPress Banners plugin. Most of these features were developed upon customer requests. Lets look at some of the highlights:
Starting date for banners
You can now specify the starting date for each individual banner with an easy to use JavaScript calendar. Specifying a future date as a starting date will prevent the banner from showing on your site prior to that future date.
TinyMCE editor button for shortcodes
The banner rotator shortcodes button in the WordPress TinyMCE editor opens a dialog with options to quickly insert a shortcode for an ad, zone, size and/or size & zone into your WordPress posts/pages.
Flash clickTAG support
clickTAG functionality is coded into a Flash banner to make the click URL of the banner dynamic so that it can be specified in the Flash embedding code.
With this integrated, you can use a Flash clickTAG compatible banner and specify the click URL directly in the plugin. The banners plugin also tracks clicks on Flash banners with the use of clickTAG.
HTML code for external/remote sites
Ads in the WordPress Banners plugin were limited to the site where the plugin is installed, until now! The plugin gives you HTML code for all banners which you can copy and paste to use on any external/remote site, even if it is not a WordPress site.
