Alternative to Codestyling Localization
Many of our users use the Codestyling Localization plugin for WordPress.
The plugin doesn’t work as expected anymore and we received word about an alternative and tried it out so we want to recommend it to you as well if you’re looking for a working alternative to translate in WordPress.
What does it do?
It allows you to manage and translate language files from WordPress, themes and plugins directly in your WordPress dashboard without having to access those files directly.
Additional features are also available such as translation services, exporting of PO and MO files, etc.
Why did it break?
Unfortunately the Codestyling Localization plugin has been giving problems and stopped working due to it’s use of Prototype.js which conflicts with the scripts that WordPress uses in it’s dashboard.
Whether or not the plugin is still supported and being updated we cannot say forsure but it doesn’t seem like it.
Working alternative
There is a wonderful, alternative plugin to Codestyling Localization called Loco Translate. It basically does exactly what Codestyling Localization does but works well without any conflicts and aims to provide a more reliable and user-friendly experience as well.
It is a free plugin on the WordPress.org plugins directory and the feedback on it seems great.
