Here at Tribulant Software we’ve been waaayyy too busy to grow our mo’s (or anything else for that matter). There have been several exciting new developments and releases that are really worth writing about, so let’s jump straight in.

PayPal Payment Method Integrated

Up until very recently our customers had only one choice of payment option when purchasing items on our website. While 2CheckOut.com is a very solid and reputable payment processing firm, we’ve taken cognisance of the fact that, even though PayPal is an option at 2CO, many of our customers would prefer to purchase directly through PayPal than use the 2CO facility.

Therefore, when you login to purchase your next product or renew your product download subscription (hint, hint), you will now be able to do so through PayPal. Ain’t that sweet?

New Plugin Releases

Banner Rotator Plugin v3.0

Version 3.0 of the Banner Rotator plugin has been released with several additions, improvements and fixes. They include:

• Setting for HTTP redirect headers.
• Prevent banner cache in 3rd party caching plugins.
• Fade/slide effects for period Ajax refresh/rotate.
• Duplicate/copy an ad.
• Offsite HTML code for banners.
• Set auto rotate/page reload per zone.
• Settings link on the “Plugins” page in WordPress.
• Sort/order banners by random/specific/custom per zone.
• New Banners > Overview section with stats and a chart/graph.
• WordPress dashboard widget with an over view and chart/graph.
• Automatic updates/upgrades in WordPress.

Barclaycard ePDQ CPI Extension Plugin

This brand new extension plugin for our WordPress Shopping Cart plugin allows a store owner to connect his Barclaycard ePDQ CPI account to his WordPress website with our Shopping Cart plugin to start selling immediately.

As customers add products to their basket and go through to checkout, the plugin will redirect them to Barclaycard’s secure payment page. The customer will make the payment and be returned back to the merchant’s website with an order confirmation “Thank You” page.

Total Web Solutions Extension Plugin

This handy extension plugin integrates Total Web Solutions into our powerful WordPress Shopping Cart plugin, so that you can sell online with WordPress and your Total Web Solutions EcomMerchant account.

Customers will browse through the online shop, go to checkout when they are ready to complete their order and they will be sent to Total Web Solution’s secure payment page. The customer will then pay and return back to the site with an order confirmation.

Start selling with WordPress, the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin and Total Web Solutions right now. Installation is quick and setup is a breeze! See the documentation.

PlatinumPopup Partnership

In our October 2012 Newsletter we announced the upcoming partnership between Tribulant Software and the guys from PlatinumPopup.

That process has gained momentum with the recent move of all customer support to Tribulant Software’s helpdesk, and with active technical support being carried out on the plugin.

Once released from the Tribulant Software stable, the plugin’s name will change to WordPress Popup Plugin.

To Renew or Not to Renew…

We thought we should perhaps repeat this article, which was published in our October 2012 Newsletter:

Although some customers might grumble about it and view plugin update subscriptions as a money-grabbing racket, that view couldn’t be further from the truth. The fact is that it allow us to maintain a high standard of plugin development, maintenance and support. This translates into value for money for you, our customer.

Why is Updating Your Plugin Important?

Anyone who has been involved with WordPress for a fair length of time will have noticed at least two things:

1. WordPress is by far the best free CMS (content management system) platform there is today. Well – we think so anyway, and of course we are biased.

2. The only constant thing in WordPress is change!

To expand on the second point above: WordPress itself and its many thousands of themes and plugins are constantly evolving. The authors of WordPress and the thousands of authors of third party themes and plugins could not possibly keep all other themes and plugins in mind when creating/updating, so there will always be the issue of conflicts between themes/plugins and security issues which need to be addressed more often than not.

Then of course there’s always the need for improvements and additions, mostly fueled by changes and evolution in the marketplace, and the vivid imaginations of some users 😉

Keeping up with all of the above in order to deliver products that are a cut above does not come cheap, contrary to what many may think. Competent personnel and time are necessary “luxuries” – there is just no getting away from them.

For the good of both your Tribulant-powered website(s) and the Tribulant community, please make sure your plugin update subscriptions are up to date. Even better – you might consider automatic renewals. They are less intrusive and over before you know it! 😀

So do take action now – simply visit our downloads area (while logged in to your account) and click on “Renew Updates” or “Extend Updates“. You can use the “CHRISTMAS” coupon to get a 30% discount on your renewal/extension.
