MaxRef Widgets v1.8
The WordPress MaxRef widgets plugin has been updated to v1.8 which makes it fully WordPress 2.7 compatible and provides additional functionality to you as an administrator. For more details, please view the MaxRef widgets plugin v1.8 release notes.
Mainly, the plugin has been further developed and adapted in order to be fully compatible with WordPress 2.7. It integrates with the WordPress 2.7 platform as it should. New features have been added to the plugin as well such as the ability to set the date format to display when you choose to display item dates and also the ability to hide/show empty categories when categories are used as the “Display” of the widget. These settings comply to each widget individually.
You can obtain the latest version (v1.8) of the MaxRef widgets plugin from the WordPress Codex or alternatively if you have already installed the plugin on a blog of yours, you may upgrade it via the WordPress “Plugins” section in the dashboard automatically with a few easy clicks.
Scott Frangos and I have discussed some ideas for an extended/pro version of the MaxRef widgets plugin which will become a wrapper for other popular plugins currently available for WordPress, extending their functionality specifically focussed on their dynamic sidebar widgets. More information will be posted regarding these ideas on the Tribulant Software (CC) blog in the near future.
