How to Block a YouTube Channel

YouTube is a big place with lots of content. Sometimes you’ll come across channels that don’t align with your interests or tastes.
Blocking those channels will make your viewing experience more enjoyable. In this guide, we’ll show you how to block a YouTube channel and other ways to manage your YouTube feed and how keylogger for iPhone can legally help you and protect your kids.
Can I Block a YouTube Channel?
Yes, you can block a YouTube channel so its content doesn’t show up in your recommendations, and it can’t comment on your videos. This is super useful for managing your content consumption and interactions on the platform.
Why Block a Channel?
Blocking channels on YouTube lets you filter out content you find irrelevant or annoying. Whether it’s the type of content, the frequency of uploads, or the quality of comments, blocking a channel will give you a cleaner and more curated experience.
Plus, it will stop the blocked channel from engaging with your content, another layer of control over your interactions on the platform.
How to Block a Channel on YouTube
Desktop
- Search for the Channel: Use the YouTube search bar to find the channel.
- Go to the Channel’s Page: Click on the channel’s name from the search results.
- Go to the About Section: Click on the channel’s description text below the channel’s name or on the “…more” text to open the About popup. Previously, you had to click on the ‘About’ tab, usually under the channel’s banner.
- Block the Channel: Click the flag icon (Report user), select “Hide user from my channel,” and confirm. This will prevent the channel from commenting on your videos and remove its content from your recommendations.
Mobile App
- Open YouTube App: Open the YouTube app on your phone.
- Search for the Channel: Use the search bar to find the channel.
- Select the Channel: Tap on the channel’s name from the search results.
- Block the Channel: Tap on the three dot menu on the top right, select “Hide user from my channel” and confirm.
How To Unblock Channels?
To unblock a channel:
- Go to Google My Activity: Search on a search engine for Google My Activity and access it. You can also reach it from your Google Account, under Data & privacy, by clicking on the My Activity button.
- Find YouTube “Not interested” feedback: Go to “Other activity” and scroll down to this section.
- Remove blocks: Click “Delete” and confirm. This will unblock all channels you previously blocked from your feed. Note that this behaviour may have changed and may only remove, from your filter, the video you marked as Not interested.

Hi Robert,
We updated this article on January 13, 2025 and the information was personally tested. I have tested it now and the information is valid on my Android phone and works fine. I want to make sure that you’re visiting the channel, as mentioned, before tapping on the 3 dots and not on the video itself.

Hi Alexander, I am sorry but I do not understand your message. YouTube vanced is for mobile phones, if not mistaken. It removes the ads and limits imposed by YouTube. I am not aware if it removes cuss words or not. I assume you mean in the comments. It would be great if it removed cuss words as we’re not fans of those either. Not sure if that helps in any way.
There is no block content option when those directions are followed. Did you even try this?
Google is obsessed with updating every software and service that they have, including their product names, at an alarming rate. Just when you’re happy you got used to their product(s), they redesign or change the layout. It seems they are never satisfied, which ends up causing others, like us, to keep modifying our documentation concerning their products.
For this one, they moved the information from the About tab on computer to the channel’s description below the channel name and changed the name of some of the information. We find this change as not user-friendly. Nonetheless, we have updated article with the revised information.
