Shopping Cart plugin 1.8.9.5
We’ve released version 1.8.9.5 of the WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin.
This is a major release that includes some new features, improvements and important bug fixes. See the detailed release notes for a list of changes made and then let’s have a look at some of the main feature highlights in this release.
New Feature Highlights
Some new features were added to the WordPress Shopping Cart 1.8.9.5:
Product Brands
You will now be able to add brands and link products to a specific brand. You will be able to specify a brand name, add an image and description. A nice widget is also available to display your brands in the sidebar of your shop.
Realex Hosted Payment Page (HPP)
Realex Payments Hosted Payment Page (HPP) has been added to the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin and is built right into the core so no extension is needed. Hosted Payment Page is the successor of the previous Realex Payments ePage redirect. The predecessor still works but the new HPP is recommended. It also supports Realex recurring payments.
FastWay and Piraeus Extensions Added
We’ve added two new extension plugins for our WordPress Shopping Cart:
FastWay Courier API
Using the FastWay courier API with the WordPress Shopping Cart, your shop can automatically calculate shipping rates for your customers as they checkout. Rates will be calculated based on origin, destination, weight and dimensions of the package. It is extremely easy to use and will ensure more accurate shipping prices.
Piraeus Payment Gateway
The Piraeus PayCenter Redirection payment gateway aka Winbank payment gateway allows Greek merchants with Piraeus merchant accounts to sell seamlessly online by processing credit cards, debit cards and other payment methods as needed.
Product Button/Price
A new shortcode is now available in this version of the plugin to only show the product price or product button.
So you can use [checkout_product display="price" id="123"] to show only a product price or [checkout_product display="button" id="123"] to only show a product button.

- No user id’s on digital products of an order
- Product image broken with special characters in title
- Datepicker field not working on cart, shipping and billing steps
- Variation options inventory not working
- Phone number not showing up under invoice email
- Zero priced tangible products problematic on shipping

Existing Customers
If you already have the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin installed, go to Checkout > Updates in the plugin to automatically update. If the update and release notes don’t show there yet, simply click “Check Again” to force a check.
Alternatively, you can obtain the Shopping Cart plugin from your downloads section in a ZIP format. If you’re going to manually install the ZIP file, please remember to deactivate/reactivate the plugin as WordPress does during an automatic update to ensure all tables and things are checked.
