Shopping Cart plugin v1.6.7

We worked hard on this new release of the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin. A long list of new features were added, many enhancements were done to existing features and a big bunch of defects/bugs were sorted.

Please see the release notes before I tell you about some of the feature highlights. If you want to skip all the talk and get down to it, get the latest version from your downloads section right now.

New Feature Highlights

This version of the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin is packed with many new features. Let’s have a look at them quickly. There might be something that you’ve been needing in the plugin.

Inventory/Stock for each Variation Option

Previously, it was only possible to set inventory/stock on a product as a whole. You can now set inventory/stock on each of the options on any of your product variations added to a product. The stock will update automatically on these product variation options as the products are ordered on your site so that you don’t have to manage them manually.

Automatic Updates/Upgrades

For all upcoming releases after v1.6.7 you won’t have to manually download and install the plugin anymore. An automatic update/upgrade feature has been built into the plugin to do the work for you from now on.

Date Picker Min/Max Date Range

The date picker custom field in the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin uses the jQuery UI date picker to show a small calendar so that your customers can choose dates accordingly. You can now restrict the selectable date range which will be available to the customers in your shop. This setting can be configured per custom field as needed.

Test Email Settings Utility

This is a very simple, yet very useful utility under Checkout > Configuration > General > Email Configuration which lets you test your email settings to ensure that the emails through the plugin will reach the recipients. This applies to order receipts, order comments, supplier notifications and all other emails.

Payment Gateways

We integrated 5 new payment gateways into the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin. Each of these payment gateways are sold separately as an extension plugin for a very low and affordable price. See the new payment gateways and their information on the links below:

EU VAT Exemption

The EU VAT Exemption feature is an extension plugin which is purchased and installed in addition to your existing WordPress Shopping Cart plugin. With this extension installed and the EU VAT Exemption turned on, it will display a VAT number field on the shipping/billing page so that EU customers/businesses can enter a valid EU VAT registration number for a VAT exempt order. The extension plugin will fully validate the VAT number to ensure that it is a valid EU VAT registration number.

USPS International V2 API

We upgraded the US Postal Services API for international orders specifically from V1 to the newer V2 API with more accurate rates and more options for calculation.

I am trying to find out if we can set up some way to use USPS flat rate boxes in the shipping. I emailed several times but have as of yet received no response.

I’ve updated this Shopping Cart plugin to this v1.6.7v. Somehow I still found many bugs in it. Still going to send tickets to look for configuration setting supports.

Is it possible to hire any developer who has been involved to create this plugin to finish my eShop project within a couple of days to fix these bugs. If yes, how much will it cost me?

I am also willing to send donation to speed up my project without too much hassle configuring the bugs.

    Thanks!
