We worked on this release of the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin for almost a month to iron out a long list of fixes and improvements. We present to you v1.5.6 with an amazing total of 64 changes made.
You can read the detailed information about the changes in this release of the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin by viewing the release notes. Let’s have a look at some of the highlights in this release:
Feature Highlights in v1.5.6
Ordering/sorting of product variations
While editing a product, you can drag and drop the product variations up/down in the order that you want them to appear on the page of the specific product.
Purchase invoice improvements
Several improvements were made to the purchase invoices to make it more flexible to you as the merchant and more clear to your customers as well.
This includes the ability to turn invoices off completely, product code/SKU on the invoice, company name/logo on the invoices, shipping details on the invoices, variations/custom fields on the invoices and footer text/comments on invoices.
Coupon code field in sidebar and checkout
With discount coupons turned on, you now have the option of showing the coupon code field in the shopping cart sidebar widget and the coupon code field will show up in the checkout procedure on the Shipping and Billing steps as well.
Export orders to CSV
The Orders section of the plugin shows an “Export to CSV” button which will export all completed/processed orders to a CSV spreadsheet containing all the customer and order details.
Choose post/page for products
The plugin now gives you the flexibility of assigning products to existing WordPress posts/pages if needed.
Alternatively, when creating a product the “Create new post/page” option will be selected with which the plugin will automatically create the post/page for you.
When you choose an existing post/page in your WordPress site for a product, you have to go and edit that post/page to insert the appropriate shortcode into it for the product in order for the product to display. The plugin will not modify an existing post/page.
Product filters and search
The Products section of the plugin now has product filters which works in conjunction with the existing products search to help you locate your products much quicker by status, type and price type.
De/activate products and ship methods
Both products and shipping methods can now be (de)activated as needed. Activating products and shipping methods makes them available to your customers while deactivating makes them unavailable. Essentially you can now turn these “off” instead of deleting them.
