WP Banners: Post/Page Embedding Shortcodes
Using shortcodes, you have the ability to embed banner ads directly into the content of any of your WordPress posts/pages with the WordPress banners plugin. In the administration panel, these code strings are displayed next to each record of the ads, sizes and zones. You can simply copy and paste them as needed.
v2.3.8 (and earlier)
Please note that these embedding codes will still work with newer versions of the WordPress banner rotator plugin but they are deprecated and will be removed from the package in the near future.
Embed Single Ad
{wpbr_ad_7}
This will display a single banner ad by ID value. Change the value “7” in the string above to the ID of the banner ad you wish to display.
Embed a Size
{wpbr_size_4}
This will rotate the banner ads associated with a specific size by ID value. Therefore, a random banner ad from the specified size will be displayed. Change the value “4” in the string above to the appropriate ID of the size from which you would like to have an ad displayed.
Embed a Zone
{wpbr_zone_2}
Embedding a similar string as above will randomly display a banner ad associated with the specific zone. Change the value “2” in the string above with the ID of the specific zone from which you would like to have an ad displayed.
v2.4.9 (up to v3.1)
Please note that these embedding codes will NOT work in versions earlier than v2.4.9 of the WordPress banners plugin. Only use these WordPress shortcodes if you are running v2.4.9 (up to v3.1) of the package.
Embed an Ad
[wpbrad id=X]
Display a single banner ad inside a WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the specific banner ad you wish to show.
Embed a Zone
[wpbrzone id=X]
Rotate the banner ads of a specific zone inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the specific zone of which you would like to rotate banner ads.
Embed a Size
[wpbrsize id=X]
Rotate the banner ads of a specific size (by width and height) inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” with the ID value of the size of which you would like to rotate banner ads.
Embed a Size & Zone
[wpbrsizezone size_id=X zone_id=Y]
Rotate banner ads belonging to both a specific size and a specific zone inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the size and “Y” in the code above with the ID value of the zone of which you would like to rotate banner ads.
v3.2 (and newer)
Please note that these shortcodes will NOT work in versions earlier than v3.2 of the WordPress Banner Rotator plugin. Only use these WordPress shortcodes if you are running v3.2 (or newer).
In version 4.0 and newer, we have added the ability to directly copy any shortcode that you see in our Banner Rotator plugin. The below serves as information. It is quicker for you to copy shortcodes from your WordPress admin area under Banners > Adverts/Zones/Sizes/Geotargeting. However, both Size & Zone and Size & Geotargeting do not have a dedicated section in our plugin and must be copied from below.
Embed an Advert
[banners_ad id=X]
Display a single banner ad inside a WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the specific banner ad you wish to show.
Embed a Zone
[banners_zone id=X]
Rotate the banner ads of a specific zone inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the specific zone of which you would like to rotate banner ads.
Embed a Size
[banners_size id=X]
Rotate the banner ads of a specific size (by width and height) inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” with the ID value of the size of which you would like to rotate banner ads.
Embed a Size & Zone
[banners_sizezone size_id=X zone_id=Y]
Rotate banner ads belonging to both a specific size and a specific zone inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the size and “Y” in the code above with the ID value of the zone of which you would like to rotate banner ads. Both Size and Zone must have a common banner for a banner to display.
Embed a Geotargeting Location
[banners_location id=X]
Rotate or display the banner ads of a specific geotargeting location inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the specific geotargeting location of which you would like to rotate or display banner ads. This displays banners from Adverts or Zones that have that location assigned. If both have that location, banners from Adverts take priority.
Embed a Size & Geotargeting Location
[banners_size_location size_id=X location_id=Y]
Rotate banner ads belonging to both a specific size and a specific geotargeting location inside any WordPress post/page. Replace “X” in the code above with the ID value of the size and “Y” in the code above with the ID value of the geotargeting location of which you would like to rotate banner ads. This displays banners from Adverts or Zones that have that location assigned. If both have that location, banners from Adverts take priority. Both Size and Geotargeting must have a common banner for a banner to display.
