WordPress Newsletter plugin : Special Dates Autoresponder

It allows you the create a newsletter or use an existing newsletter and schedule it to be sent to subscribers on a certain condition for a custom field.

Note that custom fields can only be created if you have the paid version of our Newsletter plugin.

 

Installation

1. Make sure that you have the WordPress Newsletter plugin installed and activated.

2. Get the Special Dates Autoresponder extension and then download it from your downloads management section in ZIP format.

 

Automatic Installation

3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload in your WordPress dashboard where you can browse to the newsletters-dates.zip file and then click the “Install Now” button. Upon successful installation you will be given the option to activate the plugin immediately so you can click the “Activate Plugin” link and skip the upcoming activation instructions.

Manual Installation

1. Extract the ZIP archive named newsletters-dates.zip in order to be presented with a single folder named newsletters-dates.

2. Upload the newsletters-dates folder to the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation, as seen in the example image below. Follow the upcoming activation instructions to activate the Newsletters-dap extension plugin.

 

Activation

Once you have installed the Special Dates Autoresponder extension via FTP you need to activate it.

To activate it you need to go to the normal Plugins > Installed Plugins section via your admin sidebar. There you will see the extension as a plugin listed amongst other plugins, as in the screenshot below:

Once activated you will see it listed in the Newsletters > Extensions section (via the “Newsletters” menu item in the admin sidebar), as seen in this image below:

Usage

By creating a newsletter autoresponder you can select the special dates option.

Newsletter > Autoresponders

1. Send to Everyone Else

Check “Yes, send to all subscribers, except the matched subscribers” checkbox to send the email to all subscribers on the selected list/s excluding the matched subscribers. Use the shortcode [newsletters_dates_sendeveryone] in your newsletter to output a list of matched subscribers.

2. Fields to Show

Pick the subscriber fields to display in [newsletters_dates_sendeveryone] shortcode.

3. Send on Specific Date

If you need to send the autoresponder out on a specific date, check this checkbox.

4. Date Condition

You will now be able to set date conditions on a custom field that you’ve created. (eg. you want to send out an autoresponder 5 days before a subscribers birthday.)

Pick the date parts that should match, eg. Day + Month, Day, Day + Month + Year and choose a custom field value on subscribers to match to the current date.

5. Recurring

You can repeat the autoresponder by selecting the recurring option. Don’t forget to save your autoresponder.
