WordPress Shopping Cart plugin: EU VAT Exemption

Requirements

The EU VAT Exemption extension plugin has the following requirements:

• WordPress Shopping Cart plugin
• EU VAT Exemption Extension

Installation

1. Make sure that you have the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin installed and that you have purchased the EU VAT Exemption Extension plugin.

2. Download the EU VAT Exemption Extension plugin from the downloads management section in a ZIP archive (you may need to login to your Tribulant Software account in order to access your download).

3. Extract the ZIP archive named checkout-euvatex.zip in order to be presented with a single folder named checkout-euvatex.

4. Upload the checkout-euvatex folder to the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation, like seen in the example image below.

Activation

Once you have installed the EU VAT Exemption extension plugin via FTP you need to activate it.

To activate it you need to go to the normal Plugins > Installed Plugins section via your admin sidebar. There you will see the extension as a plugin listed amongst other plugins, look at the screenshot below.

Once you activate the plugin, then in “Checkout > Extensions” section, the EU VAT Exemption extension is now available to be activated. When you hover over it a red “Activate” will appear, once activated the red message on the right becomes green text stating “Installed and Activated“.

Configuration

To configure the EU VAT Exemption extension to work on your site together with the WordPress Shopping Cart plugin go to Checkout>Extensions-Settings section

1. Enable VAT Exemption
Turn this ON to show a VAT/TAX field on the shipping/billing step op checkout

2. Message
Insert a message to show on the order and invoices.

3. Home Country
Select your Home Country in the select drop down menu which cannot be VAT exempt

4. Validate VAT Number
Check the checkbox in order to validate the VAT number entered.

Usage

The VAT number field will appear on the shipping/billing step of checkout for your customers to fill in a VAT number.

The number will be validated to ensure that it is correct. If a correct and valid VAT registration number is filled in, the order will be VAT exempt.
