I wanted to share a bug I found with Checkout – Advanced Coupons 1.8 and Checkout 2.2, along with the fix that worked for me, I had contacted support about this a while ago but it never got fixed.

When any regular discount coupon was applied, the customer could enter their shipping address and select a shipping method normally. However, once they continued to the billing page, the selected shipping charge disappeared completely and was not included in the order total.

The coupons did not have Free Shipping enabled.

I traced the issue to checkout-coupons/coupons.php. Regular coupons were making it into the free-shipping processing and causing $shipping to be set to 0.

Around line 1205, I changed the condition to:
if (((!empty($coupon -> discount_type) && $coupon -> discount_type == "freeshipping") || !empty($coupon -> freeshipping)) && (empty($coupon -> usage) || $coupon -> usage != "auto")) {

I also added the same check for discount_type == "freeshipping" or freeshipping being enabled to the condition around line 1217.

After making those changes, regular discount coupons correctly retain the customer's selected shipping charge.

Posting this in case anyone else runs into the same issue, and so the Tribulant team can take a look and hopefully incorporate an official fix in a future update.

Hi,

I've been using Shopping Cart since 2013. It serves my specific needs better than the competition.

Recently, I needed to do some updates. Wordfence had been nagging me. I'm a firm believer of "If it ain't broke don't fix it" because I've been burned by compatibility issues in the past.

I'm using SC (shopping cart) on a multisite to create short-term independent event registration sites. The only thing these sites share is the customer base (customer role).

What is Broken:
When I create a new event/site, I open access to that site through Multisite User Management by finding the site, clicking the drop-down, and ticking the "Customer" role.
All of their info is now transferred to the new site and they can register easily.
This is now BROKEN. When I select the customer role and save changes, I get a critical error and no user data is transferred.

What was Changed:
As I said earlier, I was overdue for updates fearing compatibility issues.
When I do make changes, I test carefully but apparently not well enough.

Several plugs were updated.
PHP was updated to 7.4.33
MySQL was updated to MariaDB 10.6.17 ( this was suggested by the host)

What I've tried:
I've deactivated all plugins and retested the Customer role transfer with no success.
I'm not going to update anything else until I get advisement.

WP-SC 1.9.9
PHP 7.4.33
MySQL 10.6.17-MariaDB
Apache
All of my plugins are compatible up to PHP 8.0

Also, my product pictures will no longer show up. I believe this is related.

TIA

I'm building a second multisite. I have checkout running well on the first for a regional organization.

I primarily use Checkout for events registration. For the most part, it serves my needs fairly well.

Now I have a dilemma. On the first multisite, subscribers are shared and contacted as a collective. This site serves a region for an organization of different event host. Conversely, the second multisite will serve as a more independent service; subscribers will not be shared due to regional differences. My problem is that I cannot easily contact former customers of each independent site the following year to promote an upcoming event without manually harvesting the emails.

To solve this problem, the Checkout plugin would need to create a new user field, say "customer_sites", that gets amended AFTER each purchase with the vendor/sites name. This would allow past customers to be contacted by each vendor for future purchases without spamming ever customer base in the multisite.

I understand the new code would have to check for repeated information.

You may ask, why should Tribulant add such code to Checkout?
Because it would have to integrate with Newsletter (a little more code). I currently don't use Newsletter. Such an update would change that.

The date picker can only advance by months. This is unusable for collecting Date-of-Births. The addition of a year-advancer (<< >>) that are now used in every modern date picker would be more than welcome.

Also, some date pickers allow a choice of a preset starting point or the current date. I honestly don't know if jquery offers this or not.

First, let me say I love this function.

However, I am receiving an error message from Excel.
"Excel has detected that ‘orders.csv’ is an SYLK file, but cannot load it. Either the file has error or it is not a SYLK file format. Click OK to try to open the file in a different format."

The solution:
If you make the first letters “ID” of a text file, Excel incorrectly assumes you are trying to open an SYLK file.

Also, If I use the filter function and then the export function, the csv is not filtered; it simply filters all.
