Ordering slides from post_id

When using the post_id shortcode, the gallery created shows the images in the order uploaded, rather than in the order they have been sorted into in the media library.

I have been experimenting with the shortcode parameters. The documentation here:

has duplicate explanations 'orderf' and 'orderd', both of which appear to be to instructions for 'orderd'; "Set to ‘DESC’ to order the slides in a descending order and ‘ASC’ to order the slides in a ascending order. Leave this shortcode parameter to order by the order set on the slides."

The plugin code has 'orderf' listed as "order field" but does not include any examples:

'orderf'		=>	false,	// order field
'orderd'		=>	false,	// order direction (ASC/DESC)

In the plugin code, I find the line;
if (!in_array($s['orderf'], ['id', 'date', 'name', 'type', 'created', 'order'], true))

but none of those options seem to change the order of the images in the slideshow except 'name' which sorts them by filename.
Is there a way to use 'orderf' to sort the images by their order in the media library? Alternatively, is there another way to use something other than upload date to sort the images?

Slideshow fails to load first time

When I first load a page with an embedded slideshow, it doesn't display properly (see attached image). However, when I click refresh, it works fine.

When I tested this on my local computer (XAMPP), it loads fine. I suspect there's an issue where content delivery is not as fast, but I wondered:

1. if anyone else has the same issue?
2. can the plugin be updated to fix this?

I have without any luck been trying hardcoding to refer your slideshow plugin to show attachments submitted to a post. Below is what I have been experimenting with but nothing shows but "No slides are available". Your support is much appreciated.

Unable to update Slideshow Gallery WordPress plugin

I have WordPress plugin Slideshow Gallery 1.5.3.4 on my site maui114.net. WordPress Plugin Directory offers no way to automatically update to the current plugin version 1.6.9. I followed Tribulant instructions and downloaded Zip file with 1.6.9. Tried to install in WordPress by Add New Plugin but installation failed with error message "Destination folder already exists. /home/o7fwsfcocdi0/public_html/maui114.net/wp-content/plugins/slideshow-gallery/". I don't want to completely delete the plugin and then install it as a new plugin because I believe I will lose my saved images and galleries. I don't know how to proceed to update this fine plugin without losing my existing galleries.

Bug: Editing a slide changes the Gallery ordering of the slide

This is a very annoying, although not serious, bug. When a slide is edited (for example, changing its Link target), the plugin automatically moves the edited slide into the first position in the Slideshow. So then I have to go to Manage Galleries, find the particular gallery and Order Slides to put the edited slide back into its proper position.
Not a big deal, but really a nuisance.

Can't adjust slideshow background or sizing

I'm running WordPress 4.9.7 and have just purchased Slideshow Gallery version 1.6.8 for multiple slideshows ($99 version). There's a great big background on my slideshow that I can't adjust -- despite choosing "fixed" on the configuration menu and trying to tell it what size to make the slideshow. Do you have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

Thumbnails often not loading

Hi. I am getting a problem that comes and goes. SOME of the thumbnails are not loading under the main picture. When I refresh the page, or load it again at another time, different thumbnails go missing, and sometimes the page loads fine with all thumbs showing.

There is nearly always a problem with the following page:

I am running the latest wordpress 3.5.1 and I have tried uploading and pointing to a URL for the images but with the same results.

Slideshow breaks site layout

Hallo,
we have been using the current (paid) version of Slideshow Gallery Plugin on our Website "https://plus1dienstleistungen.de" since October 2017 with up to three different galleries running parallel on one page. All in all it's working fine (I've tried lots of slider plugins before and this one turned out to be the best for our purposes ). But there is still one issue (a real bug maybe?) that keeps bothering us:

The Slideshows tend to brake our Website layout (please see the images attached below) every now and then when one is opening the Page.

To fix the issue, the only thing that works is to go into our Wordpress Dashboard, open the Homepage in html mode and click on one of (no matter which) the gallery shortcode snippets.

After saving the "changes" (although nothing has to be changed really) it'll work perfectly - but only for the next few hours before the strange bug shows up again...

This seems to happen only on desktop browsers, never on mobile. But it happens continously and for no apparent reason.

Sounds strange? Feels strange. Never seen anything like that. But I hope you do have some idea to help us out?

Hi,
I have been using the paid version of Slideshow Gallery Plugin for some months now on Linuxnews and it is really superiour to other plugins I tried so far. Usualy I need the slides in a stack which works perfectly. Sometimes I would like to have thumbnails next to each other for comparison and have them enlarge on click. Something similar to this. Is there a way to do this with your plugin? It is probably easy to do and I just can't see it. So a shove in the right direction would be nice.

Need instructions to center my slideshows on a specific page with CSS, or any other method...

I can't center the text on a specific page. I need it just as it is on other pages but on one particular page I need the slideshows centers instead of right-aligned.

I recently upgraded to slideshow gallery 1.6.7.1. It looks like I am seeing an error now when the page loads: TypeError: slideshowgallery1925.touch is not a function.

Please help as this prevents the rest of the page's javascript from running, of course.

https://sumofpwn.nl/advisory/2016/cross_site_scripting_vulnerability_in_tribulant_slideshow_galleries_wordpress_plugin.html indicates there is XSS vulnerability in some Slideshow Gallery versions on wordpress plugins. I ran gravityscan and it shows this problem is in releases 1.6.5 and older.

The release I have on my site from wordpress plugins is 1.5.3.4, and it shows as current.

Will the free plugin be updated to remove the vulnerability?

The Tribulant slideshow galleries were working fine on my website until the last update. Now I get the error message 'No slides are available'. Nothing has changed from my end and slides exist in each gallery. An example can be found at https://www.wiggintontennisclub.co.uk/gallery/

[Solved] Slideshow gallery images displays vertically

Hi, all was good with the Tribulant slideshow gallery plugin until a couple of days ago.

For some unknown reason, all existing slideshows started to display oddly in that the bigger images (not thumbnail) displayed vertically down the page rather than within the gallery space, sliding horizontally as normal.

I don't believe any changes have been made to the site, so has anyone else experienced this and if so, what if anything did you do to fix it. Many thanks, Neil.

All backend slides are there, but at frontend it says, "No slides are available."

Slideshows aren't displaying properly on some of pages. Here is an example.

Since some slideshows ARE displaying properly on my website, I don't think it's a compatibility issue - I'm on Wordpress 4.7.5 and Slideshow 1.6.6.1.

I *think* the problem is I appear to have blank slides in the bad galleries. When I try to delete these blank slides, I get the error message "No slide was selected". Here is a screenshot demonstrating this.

Do you have any ideas on how to resolve? I haven't been brave enough to edit the database directly yet!

Everything was working fine up until 1.5.3.4 on my site where in my PHP i had:

slideshow($output = true, $post_id = null); } ?>

This gave we the desired slide rotation between the 4 slides i had.

After the upgrade to 1.6 the gallery stopped showing on my website.

I have been speaking to support and they pointed me at:

And said i need to use:

Unfortunately i'm not a PHP expert and i manage the website for a charity and i'd like to move to the latest version to ensure there are no security issues.

Can someone please help me with the new PHP i need to replace:

I've tried a few things but nothing gives the same results as before.

[SOLVED] After creating a security certificate for site, slideshow doesn't play nice.

After installing a security certificate on our site (urbanevo.com), I installed the Force SSL WordPress plugin. For the majority of media, this is no problem, and all the images and such are now served via HTTPS.

But when I went through the slideshow gallery tables and changed the URLs from "http://urbanevo.com"; to "https://urbanevo.com"; the slideshow images would no longer resize / thumbnails would be displayed as full-size images, etc.

I undid my changes, but I want to know what steps to take to get our slideshow to play nice with HTTPS. Can anyone advise?

Feature Request: Slide Expiration Date

Hi support staff,

it would be incredibly helpful to have a date range when you publish a slide so we don't need to remember to take down a slide after an event or promotion has run. Typically the items we promote with slides are run for a specific date range (an event, a sale, etc), and so we know when we set it up that it will expire on a known date.

However, we also currently need to expire the slide manually by remembering to at some point. My current system involves glancing at the home page of our website, then realizing that the slides are pointing to out-of-date content.

Do you guys agree?

Database timeout accesing gallery slides

Hi,
I have timeout issues trying to access the slides in a gallery.

I have installed a query monitor and I have discovered that going to the control panel and trying to access to a gallery with 22 slides are made 1110 queries to the database!!!

This is the query that generate most of the issues:

SHOW COLUMNS
FROM wp_gallery_slides

and it is made 434 times.

It is necesary this query to be made so many times?

I need to create gallery from some of my uploaded media library files. I created empty gallery. Now i go to Manage Slides, click the button Add Multiple, choose some files from media library. They doesn't seem to appear or there is no any preview of selected files. Then I click Save Multiple Slides, but get message "No slides were selected". How to solve this?

I can't choose responsive. no matter what settings i choose, this option is not available. I have tried "reset to defults" multiple times to no avail.

What am i doing wrong? I am new to wordpress and only have limited experience with css.
