Amason SNS - subscription fails confirmation.

edited September 2014 in Newsletter plugin
I followed the setup for Amazon SES and SNS as per the docs
http://docs.tribulant.com/wordpress-mailing-list-plugin/7131

In the SNS config in AWS the SubscriptionID is "Pending Confirmation" when I create it
after a couple of days this fails, and the subscription is removed.

Is there someway I can test the SNS topic subscription endpoint URL is working correctly on my website,
and see the response that would be returned to Amazon to confirm receipt of notifications.
URL is beaut.ie

thank you
Andrew.

    Thank you for your post.

When you create the Amazon SNS topic and then the subscription and fill in the HTTP URL, it will say "PendingConfirmation" but should change to confirmed almost immediately as it pings your server.

Are you sure that you selected HTTP and that you filled in the correct URL? The URL is obtained under Newsletters > Configuration > General > Bounce Configuration.

I look forward to your response.

Did you manage with the Amazon SES + SNS bounce setup?

    Hi
I can send with Amazon SES no problem
it is only SNS that is not working.

    I am using Newsletters 4.3.8.

I used the endpoint given in the Bouce Configuration.

In Amazon SNS topic I did select http, and pasted the exact same URL
Your Amazon SNS topic subscription endpoint URL is http://beaut.ie/?wpmlmethod=bounce&type=sns
    <br>
If I open the endpoint URL in my browser, I get the website homepage.
I understand Amazon would use POST to send to this url.

just not sure what to do to test this further.

    thanks
    Andrew.

Maybe the &amp; in the URL is the problem.
Can you change it out to & and see if that works?

Yes, the URL will show the home page.
It will only take action when it receives data from Amazon SNS.

I tested this yesterday on our development build and it works great so something small must be an issue here.

If the issue persists, can you please submit a ticket to us? http://tribulant.com/support/

    Ok I'll open a ticket.
There is no &amp in the URL - that only appeared when I saved the comment in this discussion.
    thanks
    Andrew.
