CSS-Menu disappears behind Slideshow on mobile Safari

On my customers site I use the Slideshow-Plugin on the frontpage. 

But on mobile safari on the iPhone (tested in different versions) the CSS-Menu disappears behind the slideshow. I played around with z-index and opacity, in my opinion I nearly tried everything, but without success.

For the moment my only idea is to use an other slideshow- but I hope someone can help- the Slideshow Gallery is a fantastic plugin! Thanks a lot!
