Scheduled Post Sent As Newsletter Sending Twice to Subscribers

I have scheduled several posts in advance (1 per day) and have them set to be sent as a newsletter using the option on a new post page at the bottom. Somehow though the system is sending the newsletter twice to the subscribers and I cannot figure out why. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just checked and the Newletter plugin shows that the email was only sent once, even though it was delivered twice to users. If it matters I am using the built-in mail function. I could switch to the SMTP option if that would help or is even just a better practice.
