Page Template for Product when using Post

I want my product posts to use a custom page template, I don't see a place to assign a page template.

How can I accomplish this?

Thank you for getting in contact with us.

If you want your products to use a specific page template the easiest method would be to convert your products to "Custom Post Types" (under the plugin configuration you can find this option and then re-save all your products and categories), after that you must create a new page template inside your theme with the following name: single-product.php

You can also try to switch your posts to pages and then assign a different template to each product page that is generated.

Hi,

I followed the advice above for "Custom Post Type" but it doesn't work. 

Is there anything else I need to do to get this to work?

Sorry, apparently there is a misspelling in my last response, the name of the file that needs to be created it single-product.php
