Alter product output loop for outputting SKU

I need to output an item number for every product, so I thought about using the SKU for it.

But SKU is not in the standard output for the products.

What's the easiest way to alter the output for getting the content of SKU?

You can edit the following file: wp-checkout/views/*your theme name*/products/view.php and use the following piece of code to display the product SKU there: 

<?php echo $product -> code; ?>
