[SOLVED] Problem with system configuration

Under "System Configuration'/Wordpress Comments and Registration form/, I have checked the Registration Checkbox to 'yes' (It says "Turn this on to place a subscribe checkbox on the registration form") and saved the settings; yet I do not see any subscribe checkbox on the registration form. I am using the 2013 wp theme.

Also, under "System Configuration'/wordpress related/ Register New Subscribers as Users, I have ticked 'yes' -- but this too works only partially: It registers the users email in the WP users list, but not the name. 

Please let me know how to solve these problems.
