The image you show indicates a broken tracking image, it is not loading.
This is usually caused by one of 2 things:
1. PHP imageGD not supported or enabled on the hosting, can you check? 2. Often a 3rd party plugin or the theme sends headers breaking the tracking image, can you temporarily switch the theme and turn off other plugins to find the problematic one?
