Newsletter plugin 4.4.5
Great news to all our WordPress Newsletter plugin users! An update is available.
Version 4.4.5 brings you several new features as well as improvements and fixes. See the release notes for a detailed list of changes.
Highlights of Features and Improvements
This is the introduction to conditional tags in the newsletter plugin using
[newsletters_if...] and will now be further expanded to work on subscribers, custom fields, mailing lists and more as we move along. It currently works on content areas only.
This has been showcased beautifully in our new Colorwise newsletter template to populate the color sections as content areas are added under the editor while creating a newsletter.
Print Link in Newsletters
You can now insert a shortcode into your newsletter template/theme or the content itself to output a print link. The link will open a print preview of the newsletter and automatically open a print dialog as well. The text of the print link can be edited under the settings.
New CSS Inline Styler API and Option
In short, the purpose of inline styles is cross-client compatibility. Some email/webmail clients do not support style tags and requires inline CSS to display the email properly.
As a result, the existing inline styler for newsletter templates/themes has now been improved with a new API and a setting has been added under Sending Settings in the plugin to apply CSS as inline styles on the final version of a newsletter, right before sending out the email.
This will help to ensure your newsletters display great on all devices and in all email clients.
