Suppliers allow you to add a supplier’s details to Checkout and to associate a Product with a suppliers. Suppliers should be created first before you create you products. If you need to add a supplier later, that’s no problem and you can add/edit.

Suppliers details are not viewable by shoppers or visitors to your shop/site and is purely to assist administrators in knowing who to contact when ordering or dealing with product queries, returns etc.

The suppliers can also be used as brands on your site. Its another good way of categorizing products by brand/supplier if you already use your shop categories for a different structure.
